Composer and musician Tyler Bates, responsible for many large Hollywood film scores, wanted his new sound studio to feel more domesticated than the typical corporate music studio. Soler Architecture converted the two-story guest wing of his residence into a working professional sound studio. The lower level live music room is linked to the upper level control room via a new gracious staircase. The control room opens to the stair landing and balcony with views to the hills beyond. Soler Architecture was responsible for the aesthetics as well as the technical challenges involved in properly isolating the lower live room from the upper control room.
